Wow, where to start. You of all people know how much I detest change, but then again, you are the one who always tells me "everything happens for a reason, there is something better waiting for you". That is something I have to hold one to in my darkest times... there is something more.

And just fyi- Animal Research sounds like SOOOO much fun... i love that kind of stuff!!!

Whenever you told Terri that story, I was sitting next to her and I heard her say. "That's a good story." When she hung up, from talking with you, she told me that was the first time she had a lengthy conversation with you and she commented on how nice you were. Of course, I said, "Yes, she is very sweet."

Natalie spent part of her Thanksgiving morning with the rescue horses also, along with her sister, Morgan. I am thankful that they are working with them. These horses have come a long way in three months and it is amazing to see them trust again.

Natural Horsemanship is getting popular in our local community and I am so glad about that. I am thankful to Mirka Pitts also for introducing it to so many; some of those who take lessons from Mirka have adopted PER rescues and I am so excited to see the amazing breakthroughs that they are experiencing.

Thank you Jolee, for taking the time to learn NH training. Only good can come of it. Happy Thanksgiving!

Good story. Have to remember this as we move forward on our new ranch, I want to keep things simple and playing with horses First. I love training and teaching. I want to keep that first. All for the love of the horse. With still so much to do riding and training is first here. We took two out yesterday. We will take two trips of two out today. Fix and build the chicken coop in the middle and it;s a good day. Plus I am fighting a bad cold, buy no time for that. Keep up the good works !

Sorry you fell and hope you feel better soon.
We have trained six Arabians in the last few years. (They are a fantastic smart breed, our favorites)
My horse Zahra and I were on a 40 mile competitive trail ride recently and I didn't see a hanging vine and it caught me by the throat. Scratched me up, but my Zahra stopped immediately and as I fell to one side she slipped that way too and saved me from falling. She also helped my grandaughter once. I have one student that comes once a week that has mild autism. He only rides her.
I am telling you this because my husband read this and is afraid you might not ride again and we want to offer you some natural training that may help. Call if interested Jack Glenny 380-3000 or Crystal 426-1000

Parelli works. My husband and I were green along with our six arabians. And we know about the bad things people say, but our horses are in love with us and respect us. We have relationships and never use bits. We do a little competitions and always win ribbons. Never first yet. But if we put a little more time in we could.
My horse even has saved my life once. Got hung up in a vine around my throat at a fast trot. She stopped and then slide under me as I was falling. ....Parelli works!!!

I like natural horsemanship principles myself ... but I also agree about your Parelli statement ... all it took was for me to go to one of his two day seminars .. I didn't stay all of the first day and didn't go back the 2nd... I will read the other trainers books that you mentioned ... I've enjoyed reading Monty Roberts and I watch Chris Cox and Clinton Anderson when ever I can on RFDTV .. We can all learn something from different trainers so I try to keep an open mind ...

Jolee, thank you for sharing that story. It makes me so sad that the animals end up suffering. Sometimes not on purpose or by mean people. But i guess when they let them suffer like Prince did, there is NO excuse. There are too many things they can do and should want to do to the best thing for their beloved friend.I am so glad that i have been fortunate to adopt one of these horses. And what a treat she has been. Sandy has such personality and is such a good girl under saddle. She's a little mean to other horses but that's ok. They learn to stay out of her way! She just has to remind everyone who is #1!!!! I'd love to be able to bring her in my house and have lay at my feet like my dogs do. She is just so great!!!
